Las Vegas Surety Bonds

What is a Surety Bond?

A bail bond, also called a surety bond, is a contractual agreement that is guaranteed by a licensed bail bondsman who is underwritten by an insurance company. The bail bondsman guarantees to the court payment for the full amount of the bond if the defendant fails to appear for their scheduled court dates. If a court date was missed in error the defendant can usually reschedule for a new court date.

How a surety bond works

A surety bond is like a check. The amount on the check is the full bail amount. This check is issued by the bail bonds company and given to the court. The co-signer and defendant are liable for this check.  The court will hold this check to guarantee the defendant making it to their court dates. If a court date is missed, the court will set a date when it will cash the check.

To fix this situation and stop the court from cashing the check, the defendant needs to schedule a new court date as soon as possible. This can be done by the defendant going to the court clerk and asking for a new court date or hiring an attorney. How Much Does a Bail Bond Cost?
Cost of a Bail Bond in Las Vegas Nevada

In the state of Nevada, the cost of a bail bond is (15%) of the cash bail amount set by the judge in the initial hearing. A licensed and honest bail bonds company has to charge the (15%) as set forth by Nevada Law NRS 697.300.

Why can’t the cost be different from other companies?

Potential clients always ask: “If we can do this for less?” or, “The other bail company said they can do it for 10%.” Any bail bond company that is offering bail for less than (15%) is acting illegally or deceptively. Unlawful bail can put you in a very detrimental position. If the agent is willing to break the law by giving you a lower rate, will that agent re-arrest the defendant if a payment is missed or for no other cause? Do you trust that agent to return your collateral? In your time of need for a bail bond don’t just gamble on any company that is in a run-down office in a scary part of town. Call us at 702-462-9200 or visit us at eBAIL and see how nice our office is. You will be happy in choosing us, guaranteed!

Always hire a licensed bail bonds company and make sure they are accredited by the (BBB).  For additional questions on bail bonds please call 702-462-9200 or visit our company website eBAIL Online Bail Bonds in 3 minutes or less.

Federal Bail Bonds in Las Vegas, Nevada
Federal Bail Bonds in Nevada

Call 702-462-9200 if you need Federal bail bonds in the State of Nevada. We have full licensing and authorization to post federal bail bonds at the Lloyd D. George US District Court in Las Vegas and any federal courthouse nationwide.

How much are Federal Bail Bonds?

The required premium for a federal bail bond is (15%) of the bail amount. For example, if a judge determines the federal bail to be $100,000 you can expect to pay $15,000 to a federal bail bondsman. Collateral can be pledged by anybody and is collected to ensure that the defendant will appear in court when required.

Federal Bail Bonds are different in that the Federal Court does not give any grace period when a court date is missed. The Federal Court will immediately demand payment of the full bail amount. Therefore, most federal bail bonds require cash or other liquid assets for collateral. Once the defendant satisfies his obligation to the court and bonding company the collateral will be returned to the person that pledged it.

Please call us at 702-462-9200 to further discuss cost, payments, and collateral on federal bail bonds. We are licensed, bonded, insured and also accredited by the Better Business Bureau. Click here to visit our company website.

JAIL RELEASE OPTIONS IN LAS VEGAS:

OWN RECOGNIZANCE (OR) RELEASE – Is when the courts allow the arrested to be released for free without the need for a bail bond or having to pay for the bail. (OR) releases are very rare and are usually granted within 72 hours of the arrest.

BAIL BOND RELEASE – Almost all arrestees are almost immediately eligible to be released on a bail bond. This option is the fastest and cheapest release option from any jail. Within a few hours after being arrested the jail will determine a bail amount. A reputable Las Vegas Bail bonds company will pay this bail amount through a bond which is like a check.

Example of a Federal Bail Bond

For example, if the bail is $3000 then the bonding company will write a check for $3000 and give it to the jail for the inmate’s release. The jail will hold on to the check until all court dates are attended and then given back to the bail bonds company. For this risk, the bail bonds company must charge (15%) of the bail amount, which is $450 in the above example. The (15%) is a requirement of the Nevada State Law NRS 697.300 and cannot be more or less. A Bail Bond is the fastest, cheapest and most convenient option to get someone released from jail.

CASH ONLY BAIL RELEASE  – Cash only bail is when the jail requires the bail to be paid in full, no bail bond is allowable.

HELD WITHOUT BAIL – This is where the jail does not allow the arrested to be released. No cash bail or bail bond is allowable.

Immigration Bail Bonds in Nevada
Immigration Bail Bonds in Las Vegas, Nevada

Call our friendly staff at 702-462-9200 right now to inquire about immigration bonds. These type of bail bonds are very risky and usually need to be secured by cash or property exceeding the value of the bond. Immigration bonds are riskier because historically very few defendants do actually show up for their court date. The process of posting an immigration bond is cumbersome and time-consuming and can take up to a few hours. The co-signor posting the bond has to first pass the scrutiny of the (ICE) officers by providing proof of residence or citizenship, etc. The co-signor must sign the documents making him/her liable for the defendant.

Who can I call for an Immigration Bail Bond?

Call 702-462-9200 right now and let us do all the work for you. We are a fully licensed and (BBB) accredited bail bond company. In your time of need for an immigration bond, don’t gamble on just any bail company that is in a run-down office in a scary part of downtown. Come visit our beautiful office at 3100 E Charleston Blvd Suite 108 Las Vegas, NV 89104, right on the corner of Mojave Street. Visit our company website here at Online Bail Bonds in 3 minutes or less! You will be happy with your choice, guaranteed!

BAIL BOND RELEASE– Almost all arrestees are almost immediately eligible to be released on a bail bond. This option is the fastest and cheapest release option from any jail. Within a few hours after being arrested the jail will determine a bail amount. A reputable Las Vegas Bail bonds company will pay this bail amount through a bond which is like a check.

DUI Bail Bond Example:

For example, if the bail for a (DUI) is $2000 then the bonding company will write a check for $2000 and give it to the jail for the inmate’s release. The jail will hold on to the check until all court dates are attended and then given back to the bail bonds company. For this risk, the bail bonds company is required to charge (15%) of the bail amount, which is $300 in the above example. The (15%) is required by Nevada State Law NRS 697.300 and cannot be more or less. A Bail Bond is the fastest, cheapest and most convenient option to get someone released from jail.

CASH ONLY BAIL RELEASECash only bail is when the jail requires the bail to be paid in full, no bail bond is allowable.

HELD WITHOUT BAIL – This is where the jail does not allow the arrested to be released.  No cash bail or bail bond is allowable.

What is a Bail Forfeiture Notice?
What is a Bail Bond Forfeiture Notice?

A bail forfeiture notice is an official court document that is sent to the bail bond company by certified mail. It informs the company of two important items. First, it lets the bail company know that the defendant missed a court date and a warrant for arrest is issued. Second, it gives the bail company a date on which the full bail bond has to be paid. To remedy this situation the defendant has to get a new court date through the following options.

The first and easiest option is for the defendant to go directly to the court and schedule a new court date. The second option is to hire an attorney to schedule a new court date. If the defendant fails to do either in a timely manner the bail bond company will hire a fugitive recovery service to put the defendant back into the court’s custody. The expenses for this undertaking have to be paid by the co-signer of the defendant.
